Ridgecrest offers comprehensive rehabilitation programs.
A licensed therapist screens all residents upon admission and quarterly thereafter in the skilled setting.
Following the evaluation of the resident’s functional abilities, an individualized rehabilitation program is developed, addressing areas related to the resident’s:
- Mobility
- Performance in activities of daily living
- Communication skills
- Swallowing function
- Pain issues
Physical, Occupational and Speech Therapy are available seven days a week.
ADL Training –to maximize functional independence - dressing, grooming, toileting, bathing, and home / community management skills
Wound Care – for surgical wounds, decubitus and stasis ulcers
Gait Training – achieve safe ambulation/locomotion
Bed Mobility & Transfers – positioning and transferring
Splinting / Contracture Management – prevent contractures, preservation of skin integrity, and joint protection
Dysphagia – improve quality of life by identifying the appropriate diet consistency for safe eating, strengthening swallow mechanism, and decreasing the potential for aspiration
Aphasia / Cognitive – reduce frustration by facilitating comprehension and addressing communication needs and improving socialization
Rehab Dining –increase patient’s self-feeding independence using adaptive equipment / techniques while working with trained staff
Restorative Program – allows for daily /weekly monitoring of residents by the restorative and therapy staff after discharge from skilled therapy.
